Crisco Its Digestible Hair Barrett

This is a French clip hair barrette base in a large size. I have medium to fine hair and can get my whole ponytail in it. The main decorative part of the barrette is plexiglass that I have cut and molded, with a vintage Crisco advertisement decoupaged to the underside. The underside was then painted white and sealed with an acrylic sealer. The upper and lower pieces are held together with a heavy glue and two sparkling blue crystal brads. Definitely one of a kind and for the vintage lover.

Sun Tarot Card Barrette

This is a french clip hair barrette in a medium size with hand cut plexiglass on which a copy of the Sun Tarot card from the original Rider Waite tarot deck has been decoupaged and sealed.  The image came out pretty nice but with all decoupaged barrettes that I do there are slight imperfections with the images due to the processing required.  Darned funky and original though if I do say so meself.  The image is on its side - please keep in mind - and looks best when hair is pulled up and it is able to sit upright, as opposed to say a ponytail where it would be on its side.  The entire piece is fortified to hold together with peppy little yellow crystal brads at the top and bottom.  I do have more pics if you want to see the back and such.
