A week ago, here in Marburg, we caught the tail end of the hurricane Xynthia. While our town wasnt hit nearly as hard as alot of Europe, we did have some crazy winds. In fact, an 80 foot pine tree fell on our poor little Honda Civic. It was completely squished. Strangely though, it was a bit inspiring - the whole force of nature and timing thing. So I made a bunch of pieces to commemorate it. Some are made out of actual pieces of the tree that squished our poor little Grunzwerg (means green dwarf in German). This is the second piece in this collection.
I call this one Bird In Hand. It is a piece of "the" tree. Pine bark that has been sealed so it is solid and weather proof. Set on it is a vintage image of a birds head, resined onto a vintage watch face, and around it are various watch parts and crystals. It is a wee little brooch and looks really pretty against a scarf or on a coat lapel.

This is a handwoven copper crochet necklace, interspersed with small, orange glass faceted beads that catch the light in a charming way. The pendant is an agate slice which is surrounded by a hand forged copper bezel with attached bail. The clasp is also copper and is a pretty little toggle clasp (easy to work). The whole thing has a lovely, natural warm glow.

This is an Asian inspired beauty. It is pure silver, with factory made ruby gemstones and a sterling silver bead to top it. The shape is cone and is made from silver clay, imprinted with a tree branch design, fired and then hand polished. This piece takes hours of polishing. It is also quite heavy - alot of silver. The dangling chains are also sterling silver and the whole pendant hangs on a very thick chain (of sterling) with a heavy duty lobster clasp. This is a really unique piece and would make a very precious and personal gift for a loved one, and a wonderful family heirloom.

Definately a conversation starter and a must for all the vintage candy junkies out there! This is entirely made to scale out of polymer clay. Licorice twist, jelly beans, Good n Plenty's - all dangle from a nickel free chain bracelet. Too fun! (one size fits all too)

this is made to scale - a faithful reproduction of the old fashioned candy buttons I used to eat as a wee one. Ok - I still eat them. Alot. Whenever I can. But that isnt the point - the point is you can now wear them as a bracelet. It is made of polymer clay and has a nice bendy comfortableness to it. Size can be adjusted to fit.

This is my first hand fused chain. I took the wire, put it into rings, hammered flat and then heat fused to form a chain. I then hand polished it. I dont have access to a tumbler so I hand polished each link. I really enjoyed making this! It is about collar length, and sort of medium chunky. This is a darned fancy piece if I do stay so myself.

All but the stone and clasp are handmade. The chain is hand wrapped Viking Knit. The pendant is an agate slice in rich brown and cream tones. The bezel is copper chain maille, hand linked. The chain took me about 3 or more hours to make and the bezel about the same. Im a bit house proud of this one :). The clasp (although store bought) is also copper. It is a longer chain and hangs about breast length
